About Sanctuary of Pole 

The Past, Present and Future

In January 2023, Sanctuary of Pole began as Pop Up Classes inside MOTIVE School of Movement. Sanctuary became the FIRST Pole Studio in the Upstate South Carolina to offer FlyPole, LyraPole and Pole Series classes. True fact! 

In April 2023, there was a demand for pole in Spartanburg, so pop up classes began at focus.upstate on Mondays till October 2023. After becoming Lyra certified, Sanctuary began offering Lyra classes in June 2023.

In 2024, MOTIVE School of Movement became our home studio until we moved at the end of December 2025. 

In January 2026, we moved to inside Heddle Hill on Rutherford Rd. We upgrade our space to 1,838 sq feet. Our own private bathroom and lobby area. We were able to separate our studio into 2 spaces: our pole space with 6 stage poles and our floor/aerial area with 3 rig points and fitness equipment. As well as adding additional instructors to our staff!

The goal of Sanctuary of Pole was to become more than a pop up haven and we did! We continue to strive to be a safe pole and aerial haven where students could explore the arts. We have an open door policy, we welcome all and the only thing we ask in return is for respect for our space and others. We will not tolerate any bullying behavior nor disrespect of our studio, staff, and students.

Did you know that we became a studio affiliate with Pole Sport Organization in 2022 and US Aerial Federation in 2023?
